EIC of the Year Award
The EIC of the Year Award is established by the Money Transmitter Regulators Association (“MTRA”) to honor one examiner-in-charge (EIC) that has made significant contributions to the regulatory landscape of MSBs in the United States. This award is intended to recognize the dedication and commitment of the individuals that lead multi-state examinations of MSBs and further the network supervision initiatives championed by the MTRA.
Selection Criteria. Recipients will be selected based on their contributions in a combination of the following areas:
- Performance: Exceeding job expectations, delivering excellent customer service, and contributing to team success through organization, the ability to manage large multi-state examiner teams, and the issuance of reports within established guidelines.
- Leadership: Inspiring and guiding others through the examination process.
- Teamwork: Demonstrating a willingness to encourage teamwork and assist others during examinations.
- Communication: Having open and direct lines of communication with exam team members and industry participants before, during and after the examination process.
- Professionalism: Demonstrating a high standard of professionalism and integrity when working with participating states and industry representatives.
Nominating Process
- Eligibility Period: Examinations conducted between July 1 through June 30 are eligible for consideration.
- Nomination Submission: A completed nomination form must be submitted via a website link by June 30 and shall include:
–A completed Nomination form, which includes your statement of support summarizing the
nominee’s contributions and achievements. - Review Committee: A selection committee of three Board members will review all nominations and recommend the proposed recipient to the MTRA Board of Directors. The committee will evaluate nominees based on the established criteria.
- Eligible Nominees: Employees of a state regulatory authority are eligible if, during the eligibility period, they have led at least: a) three multi-state money transmitter examinations, or b) one large, complex, multi-state examination.
- Eligible Nominators: Nominations can be submitted by: a) examiners that worked with the nominee during at least one multi-state examination conducted during the Eligibility Period, b) supervisors of the nominee, or c) representatives of a licensee that have engaged directly with the nominee on a multi-state examination conducted during the Eligibility Period. Each nominator should submit a completed nomination form.
- Selection and Announcement: The award recipient will be selected by the MTRA Board of Directors and announced at the annual MTRA conference.
