Mr. Weiss will speak on "International Microfinance - Issues and Challenges".  He will describe a business model of providing a combination of services to residents of different countries, including money transmission, check cashing, mortgage loans, and consumer finance loans, including the issues and challenges of doing so. The model is partly based on leveraging money transfer transaction and check cashing histories to help understand someone's credit worthiness and provide them access to loans and the chance to build a credit history.
